Folger Koontz, 80, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Carolinas HealthCare System Mercy in Charlotte.
Mr. Koontz was born May 20, 1938 to the late Boyce Gerald and Stell Folger Koontz.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Tony Koontz.
The family will receive friends from 2-2:45 p.m., Monday, July 23, 2018 at First Lutheran Church, Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., officiated by Rev. James Lawrence.
Survivors include: wife, Carol Ann Koontz; daughter, Shonda Shaver, son, Mark Koontz; granddaughter, Amber Shaver; sister, Mrs. Gary (Jann) Lowder. He is also survived by two nieces, one nephew and their children.
