About us
  • About us The Stanly News & Press, located in Albemarle, N.C. (Stanly County), covers all of Stanly County and portions of our surrounding counties. Our objective is to be the primary source of news and information for all of our region. Our total circulation is 10,300 on Tuesday and Thursday and 10,600 on Sunday. The Stanly News and Press, commonly referred to as The SNAP was established in 1880 and is currently owned by CNHI (Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc.). The SNAP is managed locally, and is published every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and on Sunday mornings. The SNAP is located at 237 W. North Street in historic downtown Albemarle and our office hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m.

The SNAP offers a wide variety of advertising, marketing and informational services. Some of these include commercial printing, advertising design and layout, advertising on our websites and a variety of magazines, business guides and other ancillary services. We also publish a weekly total market coverage product known as The ADvantage. This paper publishes every Sunday, with a total of 8300 circulation. These papers are delivered to our non-subscribers, and are available for pickup at various retail outlets. With a combination of the SNAP and The ADvantage our advertisers reach a total of more than 18,600 homes throughout our distribution area.

We hope you enjoy our website and even more we hope you enjoy our products. Ideas and suggestions are always welcome. Please forward any ideas and suggestions to Sandy Selvy, Publisher, at or call 704-982-2121.
