Brown Remembers Kennedy.jpg

Albemarle attorney Charles Brown sits among his news collection about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy at his office Tuesday. Brown campaigned for Kennedy in rural North Carolina in 1960. Brown was a student at the University of North Carolina when college friend Jim Hunt, who later became governor, pried him from an exam to watch news coverage of Kennedy's assassination. Both rode on a chartered bus from Raleigh to Washington, D.C. where they attended the slain president’s funeral.
