Since church services were cancelled on Jan. 31, there is nothing to report along that line. However, there are some upcoming events we would like to mention.

Upcoming Events

Feb. 6 — The Bethany VFD will host a chicken and pork barbecue dinner. They would appreciate all donations, but especially desserts, which are to be brought to the fire department on Friday. The hours of serving are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Feb. 13 — The UMM, along with the whole Palestine Church, will host a barbecue chicken benefit dinner. This benefit is especially in honor of and to assist two ladies of our church and our community. Carolyn Hall and Donna Forsythe are battling catastrophic illness and each is an important person to all of us.

The proceeds from this benefit will be divided between Carolyn and Donna in order to assist them and their families with excessive medical and other expenses. All donations will be appreciated and desserts are especially needed. The serving will begin at 11 a.m. on the 13th and everyone is invited to participate in this project. For more information contact Ronnie Carter or Michael Bowers.

Feb. 4 — Depending on the weather: The UMW will meet at 7 p.m. either at the church hut or at the home of Nancy and Emily Carter.

The UMW will meet at 7 p.m. at Blue Bay on East Main Street.

Feb. 2 — Nancy Nolan, Feb. 5 — Billy Hathcock, Feb. 8 —Chante' Cranford; Feb. 9 — Edith Faulkner; Feb. 12 — Benny Drye; Feb. 13 — Kathy Blalock.
