Miss Stanly County, Kristin Ferree visited with the Oakboro Elementary School first graders recently during National Read Across America Week.
In celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss, she read “Green Eggs and Ham.”
After the story, she gave the students opportunities to ask her some questions. After entertaining with a song, Ferree encouraged everyone to work hard in school and read every chance they can.
To schedule Miss Stanly County, contact her business manager, Peggy Branch, at (704) 485-4196 or e-mail your request to Stanly-CountyPageant@ctc.net.
