Michael Laton of Albemarle recently initiated the Kristen Laton and son Ryan Poole endowed scholarship program.
The Stanly Heritage Endowed Scholarship Pro-gram currently includes 57 endowed scholarships. This program has benefited 566 individual scholarship recipients since its inception in 1988.
Recipients of the Heritage Scholarships are chosen on the basis of academic performance, leadership, character and financial need. Students and their donors look forward to an annual banquet where they have the opportunity to meet each other for the first time.
A wall of honor has been established to create a lasting tribute to the generosity of these donors and their families.
Donor plaques have been placed outside the president’s office displaying the names of donors and recipients who have received this prestigious honor.
If you would like to become a donor, or would like more information about this scholarship program, contact Pamera Brafford, executive assistant to the president, executive director, SCC Foundation at (704) 991-0282 or pbrafford5184@stanly.edu, or visit the Web site at www.stanly.edu.
