Wright remodels practice

By Ian Faulkner for the SNAP

Monday, September 17, 2012 — Wright Chiropractic and Sports Medicine cut the ribbon at a grand re-opening ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Town Center in Locust. The facility, which has been opened under Dr. Daniel Wright for the past year, recently underwent some cosmetic remodeling.

Wright graduated from New York Chiropractic College with honors in 1999. Dr. Wright opened a practice in Elma, NY for six years before moving to North Carolina where he established Crown Point Chiropractic in the Matthews area with his wife.

Wright opened another practice in Locust because he wanted more of a small town atmosphere.

“Natural health is very important to us. I want everybody to know the human potential and how the body can heal. All we do is tap into that. The body does the work, we just help it a little bit without the use of drugs. That's the big picture; we have to get people off of the medication,” Wright said.

Wright Chiropractic and Sports Medicine offers a wide variety of services for their patients: spinal decompression, needle-less acupuncture, flexion distraction therapy, spinal traction and they have an x-ray machine on the premises.

Wright explained that the spinal decompression table is a computer automated machine that relieves spinal pressure. With regular use the table can prevent the need for surgery.

“The human body is not meant to have pain. There’s a reason. If you have pain and you try to ignore that, it could be the worst thing for you,” Wright said.

“We take a ‘whole person’ approach to chiropractic medicine. If a patient comes in with low back pain, it doesn't mean the primary problem is in the lower back. We look at the patient, not at the condition. We don’t chase symptoms; we chase the cause of the problem. The nervous system controls every cell in the human body. We try to maximize patient function by taking pressure off of the nervous system.”

“I’m glad you’re here, glad that you’ve taken over Dr. Gotro’s facility, and we’re proud that you’re a chamber member, too,” said Tony Dennis, chairman of the Stanly County Economic Development Commission.

Matt Smith from the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce participated in the ceremony by cutting the ribbon.
