— The Aquadale Pack 22 Cub Scouts are sponsoring a pancake breakfast and yard sale at Green Memorial U.M.C. from 7 a.m.-until May 24. Donations will be accepted. Please come and help support the cub scouts.
Mothers
The Men’s Club of Cedar Grove U.M.C. honored the mothers of the church at 6 p.m. Saturday with a hamburger steak meal with all the trimmings. Sharon Lowe had the devotion and gave members time to tell something they learned from their mothers. David Lowe had prayer before the meal. Everyone enjoyed the meal and desserts.There were 50 people in attendance to enjoy the event.
Shirley Mauldin was the mother honored with a gift from the Ladies Club drawing on Sunday. The men of the choir, accompanied by Jeff Swaringen on guitar, sang a song dedicated to the mothers.
Personals
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Smith of Homestead, visited Mr. and Mrs. Steve Smith during the weekend.
Elizabeth Smith joined the family of Mr. and Mrs. Bo Smith in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Smith in Norwood for their Mother’s Day lunch.
The family of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Smith gathered at their home on Sunday for their Mother’s Day lunch and time of visitation. They came from Homestead, Albemarle, Oakboro, Locust, Norwood, N.C.S.U. and Pageland, S.C. Everyone enjoyed the event.
Jason Smith of Virginia spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Smith.
Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Baxter Smith on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Lanny Harris, Michael Harris and Amy Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Raeford Thompson, Dustin Thompson, Gina Noble and daughter, Jacey, and Leslie Sanders. All enjoyed lunch and visiting together.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Howell of Durham visited Onnie Simpson on Saturday.
