The Locust Historical Society has a new display in the big display case at the Crutchfield Campus of Stanly Community College. There are pictures and displays of clothing that were worn during the Locust Centennial Celebration in 1969.
If you were living in Locust at that time, this display will bring back a lot of memories. If you were not living in Locust at that time, this is a good opportunity for you get a look at one of our town's historical events.
I want to thank the members of the historical society for the many hours they spent getting the items for this display and setting it up. I really enjoyed viewing it and remembering all the events that were held in 1969.
It is well worth your time to stop by Crutchfield Campus to view this display. If you enter the building from the main parking area, the display case is just down the hall to the left from the main lobby.
A special thank you to Stanly Community College for enabling our historical society to share some of our Locust heritage.
