By Kelly Smith

Thursday, July 17, 2008 Canton Baptist

Sunday began with the call to worship song of “Holy Ground” sung by the choir. The congregational hymn of “Because He Lives” was then sang, followed by special music of “The Eastern Gate” performed by the choir. The message was presented by Pastor Mark out of Luke 6:27-36 entitled “Demonstrating the Love of Christ.”

Please remember our members in nursing homes and at home.

There were leis, palm trees and other items for the kids for VBS which began Sunday night. Frances Morton played “Make Me A Blessing” during the tithes and offering, and special music was provided by Janet Mabry singing “Shall We Gather at the River.”

The morning message was presented by Rev. Richard Carlisle out of II Corinthians 4:16-18.

The welcome chorus on Sunday was “Open Our Eyes Lord” and the praise and offering song was “Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us,” after which the choir presented special music with the song “Wonderful Peace.” Pastor Hunsucker presented the adult sermon which was out of Romans 12:6-8 and I Corinthians 12:1,4-27 entitled “Categories of Christian Graces.”

There will be a service at the Stanly Manor Nursing Home at 3:30 p.m. each fifth Sunday.
