Glenn Smith was the speaker at the 8:30 a.m. contemporary service on Aug. 17. Pastor Nick Rochester will be the speaker on Sunday.
At the 9:45 a.m. worship hour, the hand bell choir sang a beautiful piece, “Angels Watch-ing Over Me.”
This special music added much to the service. The children’s message was presented by Pastor Nick. He encouraged the children to start now and read and study the Bible to find direction and guidance for their lives.
Pastor chose “Praying Through God’s Silence” as the title of his morning message and his scripture was Matthew 15-21-28.
A car which was written by Bernard Jackson was read to the congregation by Pastor Nick. Jackson is going through a difficult time and is in the process of turning his life around. He is encouraging others to follow his lead.

A footnote
For some reason, fresh tomatoes have been abundant this year. They have tasted so good and the ones I have eaten have been full of juice. Nothing has ever tasted any better than a juicy tomato sandwich with a glass of ice cold tea. How much more southern can you get?
