Thank you
The family of Carlie Stokes acknowledge with grateful thanks the warm kindness you showed them during the passing away of their loved one, whether you called, bought food, made visits to the home, bought or sent flowers and of course your prayers, were greatly appreciated.
FYI
We, the community are still heartbroken over the loss of one of our loved ones and community leader, T.E. White Sr. We all know that it was in God’s plan, but it doesn’t replace the void in all of our lives. Many filled the Agri-Civic Center on Nov. 5 to pay condolences to the family.
Jim Lisk, editor for the SNAP, reported on the services exceptionally well in the Sunday, Nov. 9 edition.
As correspondent for the South Albemarle community, I would like to acknowledge several different organizations, churches and the community. Thanks to each and every one for pulling together in a time like this. I know words are sometimes hard to find, but you showed your love by going by the home, taking different items by, praying for the family, sending flowers and showing up at the Civic Center.
To all of the ministers that came far and near that took time out of your busy schedule, to the funeral directors and morticians all over the state.
To the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., the Eastern Stars, how you were dressed in your Regalia and Fez’s, as well as the masons that were dressed in their black and white.
The mayor and city council members that Tim served on so diligently for 13 years were represented, as well as the Stanly County School System.
To the Albemarle Police Department, how you attended the service and had officers at the lights to stop the flow of traffic. Everything was greatly appreciated.
I would like to say to the choir thank you for pulling together so nicely on a moment’s notice for choir rehearsal. There were more than 60 choir members and 19 different churches represented. The churches were: Cedar Grove AME Zion-Badin, Corner Church of the Lord Jesus-Albemarle, Covenant Worship Center, Crown in Glory Lutheran Church-Salisbury, East Macedonia Baptist Church-Norwood, First Baptist–New London, First Baptist–Norwood, Greater Victory Temple Ministries-Albemarle, Mt. Zion Baptist-Albemarle, Mt. Zion Baptist-Badin, Mt. Zion-Mt. Gilead, New Direction Life Ministries, Norwood, Parkers Grove Baptist-New London, Resurrection Community Church-Albemarle, Saints Delight Church-Albemarle, St. Mark-Badin, Shiloh Baptist-Badin, and the church where Tim held many offices Union Chapel AME Zion Church-Albemarle.
Mayor Whitley, you summed it up profoundly by saying: “Tim White was a good man whose heart was in the right place.”
