The Stanly County Board of Education met for a special called meeting Tuesday night for the purpose of recommending a certified employee and to further discuss the sale of the Old Central School.
Currently at Albemarle High School there is no guidance counselor. Dr. Terry Griffin, superintendent, informed that they needed a temporary guidance counselor to fill in for the rest of the school year.
“This will just be a temporary appointment through the end of this school year. We will be seeking a permanent replacement afterwords,” said Griffin.
Board Member Vicky Watson made the motion to post the position so that they could begin the hiring process and it was seconded by Board Member Dr. Angela Mills.
The motion passed unanimously.
