Stanly County 4-H’er receives gold at state competition

Thursday, August 30, 2012 — Grace Huneycutt won a gold medal for her presentation at the North Carolina State 4-H horse presentation competition. She presented in the 9- to 10-year-old division on the topic of “How to Fall Off Your Horse” in Raleigh July 11.

Grace is the daughter of Randy and Rebecca Huneycutt and is a sixth grader at North Stanly Middle School. She has participated in 4-H for four years and is the secretary of the Country Riders 4-H Club.  

She has been riding for five years and enjoys pleasure rides with her horse Buttercup.  

The 4-H program is the youth education program of North Carolina Cooperative Extension, based at North Carolina State and North Carolina A&T State Universities. Stanly County 4-H is a United Way funded agency.
