Friday, October 28, 2011 — The streets were alive with over 750 children Thursday afternoon (Oct. 27th) as they paraded in costume up and down the streets of downtown Albemarle trick-or-treating. With over 50 downtown businesses participating, the children had a fun and safe experience during the 6th annual Fall Festival event. Family and friends brought their young ones downtown to share in the parade, trick-or-treating, and children’s crafts at Courthouse Square Park.
ADDC Assistant, Victoria Sites, commented, “This was such a great event. We had an amazing turn out and the weather was perfect. We wish to thank everyone for their participation in this year’s Fall Festival. It is wonderful to see people enjoying our beautiful downtown.”
The ADDC Fall Festival committee would like to thank several people who helped make this event possible: Sparger Investments for sponsoring the event; Albemarle Police Department and the City of Albemarle, The Stanly Community College Early Childhood and Respiratory Therapy Clubs, the downtown merchants, North Stanly High School Drum Line, North Stanly Middle School Student Council and everyone that came out and participated.
