A ribbon cutting was held Friday for a new program at Carolina Farms, a division of GHA, Inc. in Albemarle.
The event was held to recognize the newest group home, which was added in March.
It was named the Howard House after Diane Howard, who along with the Cannon Foundation, donated money to GHA, Inc. for the purchase of the home.
“We are very grateful for Mrs. Howard and the Cannon Foundation funds to start this new and innovative program,” said GHA, Inc. Executive Director Dawn Allen.
Howard attended the event along with several Stanly County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, local business and government officials and GHA, Inc. staff members.
GHA, Inc. was started 30 years ago as a program for individuals from North Carolina who were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Carolina Farms consists of 38 acres with four group homes, a barn, greenhouses, a potting shed, a horse, six goats and 50 chickens.
