Girl Scout Troop 1081, accompanied by Linda Gulledge, their leader, and Nancy Ingram, the troop’s cookie mom, recently traveled to Atlanta where they spent six fun-filled days learning a little more about the history of the south and each other.
They visited the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, the Cyclorama and Stone Mountain. They also toured Mayfield Dairy, CNN and Turner Field.
Of course, no trip to Atlanta is complete without seeing the Georgia Aqua-rium, tasting drinks from around the world at the Coca-Cola Museum and seeing the new baby panda at the Atlanta Zoo.
The girls finished off the week with an exhibition game by the Braves and a brief visit to Six Flags due to the early arrival of thunderstorms.
Girl Scout Troop 1081 is sponsored by Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Richfield and Girl Scouting is partially funded by United Way.
