Stanly County Fair has been providing entertainment for the residents of Stanly, Anson and Montgomery counties for 74 years.
Sponsored by American Legion Post No. 76, who also sponsors the Stanly County American Legion Baseball team, the fair provides carnival rides, games, concessions, livestock shows, animal and agricultural exhibits, demolition derbies and nightly entertainment.
The fair offers opportunities for interactive entertainment in agriculture, home economics, antiques, arts and crafts and livestock exhibits and shows involving groups such as 4H, FFA, Home Extension and Scouts. Everyone is encouraged to participate in our premium exhibits program.
Stanly County Fair is a nonprofit organization sanctioned by the North Carolina Association of Agricultural Fairs and is a member of the International Association of Fairs and Expositions. We also partner with the North Carolina Department of Labor in their Rider Safety Program in that all carnival rides are inspected by the Dept. of Labor and meet manufacturer specifications prior to operation. Smoky Mountain Amusements will provide our midway this year.
Special features and discounts highlight the Fair experience. Discounts for school students are available on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Demolition Derby will be on Saturday night. Wed-nesday will be Senior Citizens Day as well as performances by a gospel group The Northmen. Entertainment will be on stage each evening.
Officers and directors of the Stanly County Fair work hard every year to provide something for everyone and are committed to great family entertainment.
Stanly County Fairgrounds have a great facility available for others shows and activities.
The Fair sponsors an annual scholarship program for fair volunteers.
Fair volunteers are always welcome, and it is a great opportunity for school students to earn community service credit as well as experience a part of our agricultural heritage.
We have been a member of the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce for 10 years. We applaud the Chamber for being the driving force behind business growth in Stanly and are proud to be their partner, and to also encourage other businesses to get linked, get involved and make a difference in Stanly.
