In the months preceeding the Democrat National Convention, the speculation as to what the economic benefit to Stanly County would be was entertaining.
From the corporate aircraft that would crowd our airport to the carloads of convention-goers sight-seeing and touring our beautiful area, we expected to be seeing the benefit of being only two counties away.
One can only imagine where all the DNC attendees were, but we can assume they were all busy at the convention writing God out of their platform.
Now that the DNC is over it remains for our leaders to add up all those benefits. And then convince the public how great they were.
Then they can begin the next round of spending on the Anti-Alcoa Folly.
