Just want to say, “Good Job, Uwharrie Players!”
Although I always enjoy the comedy and musical productions, usually their drama selections leave much to be desired.
“Twelve Angry Men” was a real exception to that general rule. The film version is one of my favorite movies, but it offers unrelieved tension and has virtually no comic relief. The UP actors offered just the right mix of life-or-death tension with chuckles at the flaws and vulnerabilities of the characters they each skillfully portrayed.
The 55-year-old story serves as a sad reminder that we are still inclined to mistrust “those people.”
As the group nears middle-age 40, the Players’ productions become better and better.
By the way, is there any role that Gary Moran can’t play well?
