Emily Dianne Morton and Robert Allen Krause were married at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007. The Rev. Reese Linnell and Dr. Charles Fuller officiated at the ceremony at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Oakboro. Music was provided by pianist, Todd Harris and organist, David Furr. The bride’s father hosted a reception immediately following the ceremony at Market Station in Albemarle.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. Joshua J. Morton Jr. and the late Dianne Morton of Albemarle. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joshua J. Morton Sr. and the late Mr. Joshua J. Morton Sr. of Albemarle and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Long of Charlotte. Emily graduated from West Stanly High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in accountancy and her Master of Science in accountancy from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
The groom is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Charles A. Krause of Roanoke, Va. He is the grandson of Mrs. Myron E. Henderson and the late Dr. Myron E. Henderson and the late Rev. and Mrs. Charles W. Krause, all of Roanoke, Va. Mr. Krause graduated from Patrick Henry High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in communication studies from James Madison University.
Maureen Hill served as the maid of honor. Joni Abbott, Natalie Krause, sister of the groom, and Brandi McCullough served as bridesmaids.
The groom’s father, Charles Krause served as best man. Joshua Morton III, brother of the bride, William Krause, brother of the groom, and Jeffrey Leary served as groomsmen. Ushers were Christopher Newton, Mark Davis Christopher Beck.
Friday afternoon, the groom’s aunt and grandmother hosted a bridesmaid luncheon at the Magnolia Room in Albemarle.
Friday evening, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Cabarrus County Country Club in Concord for close friends and family.
Following their honeymoon in Cyprus, the couple now resides in Rock Hill, S.C.
