April Diane Hill and Cory David McWilliams were united in marriage on December 28, 2013, in Fort Lewis, Wash. Elder Donald Clark officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Gloria Jean Carpenter of Richfield, N.C. Her grandparents are the late Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Rebecca Grossi, formerly of Pittsburgh, Penn.
She is a Certified Medical Assistant and plans on continuing her education once the couple is settled at Fort Stewart, Ga.
The groom is the son of Mr. James McWilliams of Stockton, Calif. and Mr. Tom and Mrs. Elaine Dee of Sooke, Canada.
The groom received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Western Washington University and is currently a Sergeant in the United States Army and a Cavalry Scout.
The bride wore an A line strapless gown of tulle and satin that flowed to a chapel length train. It had a high rise waistline with side draping and adorned with appliques and beading. It was complimented with a thigh length veil of sheer illusion adorned with tiny pearls and a diamond tiara. She carried a cascade bouquet of red and white roses accented with greenery and ribbon.
Sarah Hill, daughter of the bride, was both maid of honor and flower girl and Mira McWilliams, niece of the groom, was junior bridesmaid.
Erik McWilliams, brother of the groom, was best man and Nicholas Hill, son of the bride, was junior groomsman and ring bearer.
The wedding reception was held at the Meadow Park Golf Course in University Place, Wash. and was catered by Erik McWilliams, brother of the groom.
The couple took a week-long cruise to Alaska in August 2013.
Cory and April will reside at Fort Stewart, Ga.
