Bradford and Ruby Barringer, of Richfield, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Watson Reception Hall, Gold Hill, on Aug. 23. The gala was given by their children.
The couple was married on Aug. 25, 1963, in Matton’s Grove United Methodist Church, by Rev. David Carlson.
Mrs. Barringer was the former Ruby Faye Morris, daughter of the late John and Eva Morris, of Stanly County.
Mr. Barringer’s parents were the late Luther and Rachel Barringer of Stanly County.
The couple’s children are Mark Barringer and wife Anita of Richfield, Matt Barringer of Gold Hill and John Barringer and wife Shanda of Gold Hill.
They also have five grandchildren.
For the festivities, Mrs. Barringer wore a gold shimmering crochet top with gold metallic jeans.
Tables were adorned with vintage and rustic decor, mason jars and burlap table runners.
Mrs. Barringer’s wedding dress was displayed with memorabilia from the wedding, a wedding album and old love letters.
The two-tiered wedding cake was accented with gold fondant flowers.
A sit down meal consisting of herb baked chicken, roast beef with au jus sauce, herb mashed potatoes and sauteed summer vegetables was served to approximately 125 guests.
Attendees were from Richfield, Gold Hill, Albemarle, North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Maryland and Michigan.
