Lauren Ashe Hightower weds Martin Adam Jarman

Tuesday, October 8, 2013 — Lauren Ashe Hightower and Martin Adam Jarman were united in marriage on June 1, 2013, at five o’clock in the afternoon at the home of the bride’s parents on Lake Tillery in Norwood, N.C. The Reverend Lloyd Griffith officiated and the bride and groom chose to use the original wedding ceremony and vows from the bride’s late maternal grandparents.

The bride is the daughter of Bill and Margaret Hightower of Norwood, N.C. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Hightower, Sr. of Wadesboro, N.C. and the late Dr. and Mrs. Barton McCrum of Gainesville, Ga. Lauren is a graduate of South Stanly High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. She is employed by Air Components and Systems, LTD in Charlotte, N.C.

The groom is the son of Debbie Jarman and Martin Jarman of Wadesboro, N.C. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Hurley Baker and Mrs. Edna Baker of Wadesboro, N.C. and the late Mr. Ed Jarman and Mrs. Sara Jarman of Wadesboro, N.C. Adam is a graduate of Anson High School and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Civil Engineering Technology. He is employed at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother. She wore a Casablanca ivory gown of beaded lace appliqué on Point D’esprit. The gown was accented with sheer cap sleeves and plunging “V” shaped back and the hemline was trimmed with scalloped Chantilly Lace appliqués. She wore her mother’s veil, which was accented with the same Chantilly Lace.  

Jennifer Beeker of New York, N.Y. and Elizabeth Koenig of Washington, D.C. were the best ladies. John Jarman and Justin Jarman, both of Apex, N.C., brothers of the groom, were the best men. Grace Hightower, niece of the bride, was the flower girl and Gavin Hightower, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer. The reader was Emily Jarman of Wadesboro, N.C., sister of the groom. Douglas Hightower of Belmont, N.C. and Phillip Hightower of Richfield, N.C., brothers of the bride, served as ushers.

Music was provided by a violin and cello duo who are members of the Charlotte Symphony.

The bride’s parents hosted a dinner reception at Tillery Tradition Country Club following the ceremony.  

The groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner on Lake Tillery the night before the wedding.

The couple was honored at several functions including a bridal luncheon at the home of Julie Cardwell in Alpharetta, Ga.; an ‘I Do BBQ’ at the home of Ashley and Phillip Hightower in Richfield, N.C. and a brunch hosted by Tara Eudy and Kari Eudy in Peachland, N.C.

Following a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple resides in Charlotte, N.C.
