A man caught on video robbing the Bank of Stanly around 3:15 p.m. Friday in Oakboro remains at large.
The suspect, described by Oakboro police as a large-frame black male, believed to be in his 30s or 40s, entered the financial institution alone and demended money.
He was able to secure an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the bank, according to police reports.
Surveillance recordings indicate he was driving a small or mid-size green station wagon, possibly a Ford Taurus wagon, and had a bandage on his nose.
The car’s right side rear passenger window of the car was missing and the damage was covered over with plastic.
During the robbery, the man wore blue jeans, a dark colored work style shirt and work boots.
He also wore a dark colored do-rag and a white hat and was last seen driving south on Main Street away from the bank.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery or identity or location of the suspect should contact Oakboro Police Department at (704) 485-4214.
