National Piano Auditions scheduled

Monday, April 9, 2012 — The National Piano Auditions, sponsored by the National Guild of Piano Teachers, will be April 10-12 at the Stanly County Public Library.

Willa D. Carlton of Durham has been selected by the National Guild of Piano Teachers in Austin, Texas to be the adjudicator for this event.

These auditions provide examinations and formal recognition of accomplishment and added incentive for piano study. Each student receives a rating sheet, certificate and pin.

Four piano teachers, Alma Rae Tucciarone, Joyce Harwood, Joann Morton and Hannah Hearne will have students participating in these auditions in the various categories.

Students of Tucciarone – National: Miles Shen, Reagan Almond and Vy Nguyen; State: Kong Yang and Darlene Chang.

Student of Hannah Hearne – Hobbyist: Carrie Turner.

Students of Joyce Harwood – International: Evan Johnson; National: Caleb Benoy, Cody Benoy, Jacob Brewer, Jonathan Claxton, Rebecca Claxton, Jazmine Harrison, Eli Hatley, Graci Hudson, Chris Johnson, Adam Jolly, Katherine Jolly, Trey Keable, Rachel Kimrey, Emma Nantz, Kaavya Ravikumar, Ethan Richards, Grace Richards, Danny Saltzman, Neidin Shelnutt, Raevin Shirley, Madeline Smith, Brad Stichnoth and Jack Williamson; State: Alexis Herring and Destiny Pemberton; District: Rachel Fields; Hobbyist: Ana Alejo, Mary Hatley, James Horton, Tyler Horton, Micah Medlin, Justin Morris and Joshua Smith.
