Maurice's Clothing to benefit Esther House

Tuesday, December 3, 2013 — For all you fans of Maurice’s, now is the time to shop at your favorite clothing store.  For those of you who have not visited Maurice’s, now is the time to pay them a long-overdue visit.  Effective 12/3/2013 through 1/3/2014, Maurice’s staff will give a 20% off discount coupon to all customers who bring a minimum of three cans of non-perishable foods to the store.  What better way to begin or end your Christmas shopping than by using your discount!  Enjoy Maurice’s variety of clothing and accessories while helping Esther House of Stanly County.  Maurice’s is located at 814-3 NC 24-27 Bypass, between Belk and JC Penney.

Esther House opened its doors in July 2011 for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  All services received by the clients are at no charge.  The organization provides not only in-shelter but out-of-shelter classes, safety planning and other services for residents and non-residents who are domestic violence victims.  Esther House is currently providing shelter for six women and ten children.  All canned foods received at Maurice’s will be donated to Esther House to help provide for the shelter’s families.

Esther House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which is supported by local churches, donations, fundraisers and state grants through the NC Council for Women and the NC Governor’s Crime Commission.   Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  All services and phone calls are entirely confidential.

Esther House maintains a 24 hour Hotline, manned by trained staff and volunteers, to assist anyone who is a victim or has questions about domestic violence.  For more information, contact the Hotline at 704-961-7500.
