SC Arts Council to have Summer Arts Camps

Wednesday, July 3, 2013 — The Stanly County Arts Council will host two Summer Arts Camps this year.

The first will be Camp A in a new location, servicing the western end of the county at Locust Elementary School from July 8-11.

Camp B will be in the traditional location at Stanly Community College from July 15-18.

This four-day camp runs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. each day and is designed for ages 6-12. All students will attend classes in art, theatre, music and dance. Teachers for this camp are all credited, highly trained professionals in each arts area. Camp counselors will be available to help guide students through their class rotation and provide support to arts teachers.

The registration fee for this camp is $75 and includes all materials.

Students will arrive between 8:30-9 a.m. for check in and will be divided by age group. They will begin their daily class rotation at 9 a.m., including a time for snack, break, and lunch, and will return to check out at 2 p.m.

Students need to wear comfortable clothing in which they can move freely, and that they don’t mind getting dirty. Students also need to bring a bag lunch Monday through Wednesday. Lunch will be provided on Thursday for each camp.

All camp registration and medical forms are available for download on the home page of the website at www.stanlycountyarts

The deadline for registration is July 8 for Camp B.

For more information about either of these camps, contact the Stanly County Arts Council via email at stanlycountyarts, by phone at (704) 982-8118, or “Like” us on Facebook.
