The Stanly County Chamber of Commerce will host its 19th annual Reverse Raffle at the Stanly Regional Medical Family & Education Center from 6-10 p.m. Aug. 24.
This event promises to be bigger than ever with the Fabulous Fifties theme for the evening entitled “Shake Raffle & Roll.”
From ’50s-style games and entertainment, to a shagging contest and limbo contest, music featured by DJ Dean, themed foods, to a silent auction, reverse raffle and prizes, there is something for everyone. In addition, pull out your favorite poodle skirt or put on your best “Fonzie” look as prizes will be given away for the “Best ’50s Dressed.”
“I’m very excited about the Reverse Raffle this year,” Vicky Smith, chairperson, said.
“It is a fun and exciting theme with lots of great items that will be auctioned off. A lot of work has already gone in to making this the best reverse raffle ever. Get your tickets before they’re gone. Don’t miss out on all the fun at ‘Shake Raffle & Roll.’ ”
Fabulous Fifties sponsor for the evening is Stanly Regional Medical Center – Culinary Services, which will provide all of the food and beverages for the evening which is included in the price of each ticket.
Bayada Nurses and Union Power, balloon pop sponsors, will provide everyone with the opportunity to win gift cards and many other prizes.
Emcee John Mullis will announce the Reverse Raffle tickets as they are drawn.
Profits from this event help fund many of the Chamber’s business and community development initiatives.
Each raffle ticket gets two chances to win cash. The last ticket drawn wins $3,000 and runners-up win $1,000 and $500. Tickets are $100 per couple, with less than 300 available for sale.
