Law enforcement agencies are searching for a Norwood man facing rape charges in Rowan County.
Warrents have been served on William Everett Blevins II, 28, on charges of second-degree forcible rape and a second-degree forcible sex offense.
According to Capt. John Sifford of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, Blevins is accused of committing the crimes during a visit to the county Dec. 9.
Allegedly it was during that visit with his girlfriend, Amanda Rowland Hathcock, and a group of her friends that the offenses occurred.
The warrants were served after a forcible rape was reported to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
An investigation by the department led to the issuance of the warrants.
Blevins, who was released from federal prison this summer, is also wanted by U.S. Marshals for federal probation violation.
His last known location was at the home of his girlfriend at 40159 Hardy Road, Norwood.
Officials believe Blevins to be mentally unstable and dangerous as well as potentially having access to firearms.
Anyone with information on Blevins’ whereabouts is encouraged to call the nearest law enforcement agency.
