Three arrested on cocaine charges

Friday, December 28, 2012 — A team of county and city law enforcement agents combined to arrest three Albemarle men on charges involving cocaine distribution.

Michael “Shane” Rummage, 35; Jimmy Leonard Tucker Jr., 32; and Donald Richard Chance, 50, all of 29143 Hartsell Road in Albemarle were each charged with one count of maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place to distribute a controlled substance, one felony count of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrests came as a result of search warrants on the subjects address and another at 28109 Lot 50, McSwain Road in Albemarle.

The warrants were executed by deputies from the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office and Stanly County Special Response Team, Officers of the Albemarle Police Department and Albemarle Police Department Special Response Team, and the Norwood Police Department.

Seized as a result of the two searches were items of controlled substances consisting of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and U.S. currency.

All three were taken to Stanly County Jail under a $7,500 secured bond each.

They are scheduled to appear in Stanly County District Court on Jan. 28.
