The Stanly County Chorale will team up with the Pfeiffer University Choir to present a Spring Concert in celebration of American poets and composers. Randall Thompson’s “Frostiana,” a musical setting of several Robert Frost poems, will be featured on the concert, along with a variety of other interesting works.
Rehearsals will begin at 7 p.m. Jan. 14 in the Pfeiffer Chapel in Misenheimer. The combined choirs will rehearse from 7-8:30 p.m. each Monday, with two concert performances scheduled for the first weekend in May.
The choirs will be directed by Joseph Judge, director of Choral Activities and assistant director of Music at Pfeiffer University. The accompanist will be Flora Abernethy Lester of Salisbury.
For more information, interested singers may contact Johnny Almond, Chorale president, at (910) 975-3256.
The Stanly County Chorale is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Partial funding is provided by a grant from the Grassroots Arts Program of the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency.
The grant is administered by the Stanly County Arts Council.
