Stanly Arts Guild has their annual Member’s Show

Friday, November 2, 2012 — The Stanly Arts Guild had its annual Member’s Show until Oct. 26.

Over 70 pieces of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art were on display during the event.

The judge of the show was Cathy Sigmon from Faith. Working as a professional artist for the last 15 years, she has earned Signature status with the Colored Pencil Society of America.

One of her paintings is included in “The Best of Colored Pencil, Vol. 4” published by Rockport Publishers and is distributed in the U.S.  and abroad by North Light Book.

Winners in 2-D art were as follows: first place – Daniel Lipe; second place – Ed Lipe; third place – Susan Lackey; with honorable mentions to C.D. Huneycutt, Aleeta Long, Bridget Huckabee and Deb Russell.

Winners in 3-D art were as follows: first place – David Arey; second place – Judi Wilkins; third place – Annette Lowder; honorable mentions to Daniel Wray, Jane Rogers, David Arey and Millie Campbell.

The Stanly Arts Guild is sponsored in part by the Albemarle Improvement LLC, the Stanly County Arts Council and receives support from the North Carolina Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Cultural Resources and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.

The Falling Rivers Gallery, at 119 W. Main St., Albemarle, is a cooperative sale venue of the Stanly Arts Guild.
