Schools begin with new projects

Wednesday, September 26, 2012 — Stanly County schools have been active over the first month of the school year.

Stanly Academy Learning Center (SALC) has began serving students breakfast each morning at the school.

“Before, our students ate breakfast at their home school, then were transported to SALC,” said Mike Campbell, principal of Stanly Academy.

“We are very excited about this change. We believe it will allow our students additional time to eat and ensure all students have the opportunity to eat a nutritious breakfast each morning.”

Albemarle Middle School reports that a bucket drum line will begin in October. The school is asking for donations of five gallon construction buckets or commercial size trash cans. The school also needs instruments if anyone has ones to donate to the AMS school band.
