Three county law enforcement agencies teamed with the State Bureau of Investigation in the arrest of a Norwood man for the alleged distribution of illegal drugs.
Demarco Antonie Colson, 34, of 36120 Rocky River Springs Road, was arrested Friday following a six-month investigation by Stanly County Sheriff’s Office, Albemarle Police Department, Norwood Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
According to official reports, Stanly County deputies served a search warrant Friday and seized quantities of powder cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, pharmaceutical drugs and other unspecified controlled substances.
Deputies also seized an unspecified amount of U.S. currency.
Colson was arrested and charged with maintaining a dwelling and/or vehicle to distribute controlled substances, trafficking in opium/heroin, possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was taken to the Stanly County Jail and placed under a $150,000 secured bond pending an appearance in Stanly County District Court Nov. 19.
