— Jimmy Lavern “Meat” Efird, 58, of 25025 B NC Hwy. 24/27, Albemarle, died Friday Sept. 21, 2007 at his home.
His funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Bob Gruver officiated and burial was in Silver Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Norwood. Born Oct. 2, 1948, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Martin Franklin and Jewell Parker Efird and was employed by Solite. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed bike riding. Soap operas were a favorite pastime.
He is survived by a son, Marty Efird of Albemarle three daughters, Jessica Efird, Carmen Efird and Sheena Efird, all of Albemarle; and four grandchildren.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle.
