— Randy, 42 years old, of 41327 Cotton Tree Lane, New London, died Sept. 25, 2007, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem due to a logging accident. His service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Homleand Baptist Church, 1224 West Oakwood Ave, Albemarle, where he was an active member and very loved. The Rev. James Potts, Dr. Clifford Jordan and The Rev Charles Bowers will officiate and burial will be in he church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home in Albemarle Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m.
Randy was born Aug.. 13, 1965, in Albemarle to James and Linda Potts of New London. He attended North Stanly High school then continued his 30-year career with Potts Logging Inc., which he began at age 12.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Shelly Mullis Potts, and son, Randy James Potts, Jr. He is also survived by his “favorite” sister, Donna Shaver and husband, Lynn, and nephew Jeremy, along with many, many aunts, uncles and cousins, nephews and nieces.
Randy was passionate about his work. He loved to hunt and fish. He truly loved the outdoors and his family. Memorials may be made to Homeland Baptist Church, P.O. Box 114, Albemarle, NC 28002.
