Terry Thompson, 55, of Norwood, an active church member, school bus driver, died March 3, 2014


Thursday, March 6, 2014 — Terry Lee Thompson, 55, of Norwood, died suddenly, Monday, March 3, 2014, in New Albany, Miss.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at Memorial Baptist Church in Norwood. The Rev. Daniel Flynn will officiate and interment will follow in Norview Gardens. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.

Terry was born November 8, 1958, in Montgomery County. He was a son of Vernon Lee Thompson of Norwood and the late Peggy East Thompson.

Terry was a 1977 graduate of South Stanly High School and was owner and operator of Running Rabbit Farm, Inc. He was also a school bus driver, a job that he enjoyed because of his love for children. He took great pride in transporting and spending time mentoring the children that rode his bus. He will be missed by many. He was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Thompson of Columbia, S.C.; and son, Dustin Lee and wife Holly, of Albemarle; brother, Tim Thompson and wife Karen, of Stedmen; sister, Juanita Russell and husband Rusty, of Concord; and two grandchildren, Reece and Reid.
