Pauline Hussey

Friday, March 15, 2013 — Ava Pauline Scott Hussey, age 88, of Albemarle, N.C., died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in Stanly Manor Nursing Center, Albemarle.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, in Poplin Grove Baptist Church, Albemarle. Rev. Richard Carlisle, Rev. John Morgan and Rev. Raymond Cazis Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Poplin Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. The body will remain at the funeral home until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the hour of the service.

Born February 6, 1925, in Moore County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Scott and Eula Rummage Scott.

She was educated in Moore County Schools and received her GED from Stanly County Schools.

She was a retired textile employee and also a carrier for The Stanly News & Press.

She was a member of Poplin Grove Baptist Church in Albemarle. She was a former lecturer for Weight Watchers, former Sunday School Teacher and Choir Director. She loved life and working. She enjoyed gardening, music, baking and her family.

Mrs. Hussey was married to the late Howard Calvin Hussey who preceded her in death April 5, 2001. One son, Howard Calvin Hussey Jr. also preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters, Frances Morton and husband Ron, Cynthia Kirk and husband John and Janice Morgan and husband John, all of Albemarle; two brothers, Paul Scott and wife Annie of Albemarle and Jerry Scott and wife Barbara of Norwood; one sister, Daisy Schooley of Albemarle; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Stanly Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
