Maxine McIntyre


Tuesday, November 20, 2012 — Maxine Herlocker Ussery McIntyre, 97, passed away at her home on Friday, November 16, 2012.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 20 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church from 1-2 p.m. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The service will be officiated by Rev. John Bryant and Rev. Jim Allred. The burial will follow at a later date at Friendship United Methodist Church, Albemarle, N.C.

Mrs. McIntyre was born on May 2, 1915, to the late Jonah Alexander and Ada Arana Hatley Herlocker.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Tucker Ussery, and second husband, Howard Charles McIntyre.

She is survived by her two daughters, Julie Kluttz and husband John of Gold Hill and Nancy McLean and husband Ed of Raleigh; one sister, Mary Brown Little of Stanfield; five grandchildren, David Kluttz, Sally Simerson, Betsy Hawfield, Will and Joseph McLean; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  

The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice at 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC, 28001 and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 46963 Wesley Chapel Road, Misenheimer, NC 28019.

The family of Maxine would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Stanly County Hospice; Robin, Darlene, Brittani and Kristin. Also, the family would like to thank Dr. Amir Koohestani and his staff at Richfield Medical Center.
