Thursday, April 4, 2013 — Ray Von Clark, age 85, of Albemarle, died at 7:29 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy, Charlotte, N.C.
His funeral was at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle. Rev. Dr. Darrell Huneycutt officiated and burial was in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Oakboro.
The family received friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, prior to the hour of the service.
Born September 29, 1927, in Stanly County, N.C., he was the son of the late Good W. Clark and Sarah Ann Osborne Clark.
He was a retired employee of Fiber Industries in Salisbury.
He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church, Albemarle. He was a life member of AMVETS and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Clark was married to the late Evelyn Burleson Clark who preceded him in death October 24, 1994.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Bobbie Efird and husband Kenneth of Albemarle; a niece, Carolyn Tucker; a nephew, Edward Clark; and a special friend, Helen Adams.
Five brothers, Arthur Clark, Lee Clark, Theodore Clark, Paul Clark and Ralph Clark and one sister, Etta Mae Love, all preceded him in death.
