Tuesday, September 17, 2013 — David Arthur “Shep” Shepardson went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2013.

David was born in Syracuse, N.Y. on July 6, 1964. He accepted the Lord at the young age of 4.

He graduated in 1982 from Essex Junction High School, Essex Jct., Vt., where he grew up. He attended Le Tourneau University in Longview, Texas, where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing in 1986.

His career landed him in sales where he always said he never expected to be.  He was employed with Compsee out of Gig Harbor, Washington and Melbourne, Fla.

David was a member of Centerview Baptist Church where he taught the Providence Sunday School class for many years. He loved studying God’s Word and challenging others to study it in more depth, too.

His wife, Susan, shared over 20 years of his unconditional love and understanding. Not a single day went by without him declaring his love for her. His pride and joy is their daughter, Katy of the home. He taught her to be independent and shared his love of the Lord with her, as well.

He is also survived by his mother, SueCarol Allen and husband Mel Allen of Albemarle, N.C.; his brother, Derek Shepardson  and family of Essex Junction, Vt.; brothers, David Allen, Peter Allen and family, Mark Allen and family and sister, Nancee Bowers and family, all of Stanly County; his aunts in Ohio and New York, as well as many cousins and extended family.

He is also survived by dear friends, Terry Rakowski of Palm Bay, Fla., David Rosenthal and Paula Nachman of Richmond, Va., his Centerview family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred Arthur Shepardson.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Stanly Funeral Home in Albemarle, N.C. from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at Centerview Baptist Church, 508 Northeast Connector, Albemarle, NC 28001 on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at 4 p.m. with interment at the church cemetery.
