Sara Caffey, 84, of Albemarle, who enjoyed knitting and cross stitch, died June 13, 2014

Monday, June 16, 2014 — Sara Frances Archer Caffey, age 84, of Albemarle, N.C., passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, in her home.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in Stanly Gardens of Memory, Albemarle, with the Rev. Roger Thomas officiating.

There will be no formal visitation.

Mrs. Caffey was born November 29, 1929, in Stanly County, N.C., to the late John Vernon Archer and Cannie Springer Archer.  

She was a graduate of Albemarle High School and Morgan’s Business School and was a retired employee of Collins & Aikman Corp., Albemarle, N.C.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Albemarle and a member of the Eastern Star. She loved her family and her canine companions. She enjoyed knitting and cross stitch.

She was married to the late William Mike Caffey who preceded her in death August 2, 2009. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Ed Archer and Don Archer; a sister, Colleen Penfield; and a niece, Vickie Barfield.

Surviving are a brother, Douglas Archer Sr. of Albemarle, N.C. and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all her caregivers.
