Richard Little, 93, of Albemarle, a self-employed carpenter, farmer, died Feb. 15, 2014

Tuesday, February 18, 2014 — Richard Columbus Little, 93, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday evening, February 15, 2014.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 32283 Bethlehem Church Road, Norwood, NC. The Rev. Mark Little and the Rev. Lowell Brown officiated and burial followed in Bethlehem Church Cemetery.  The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening, February 17, 2014, at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.

Mr. Little was born September 9, 1920, in Stanly County, to the late Henry Houston Little and Martha Ann Howard Little.

He was a graduate of Oakboro High School. Mr. Little was a charter member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he had served as Sunday School Teacher and Deacon and was an Ordained Minister.

He was a member of the Stanly County Beekeepers Association and was a self-employed carpenter and farmer.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Myrtle Hartsell Little, and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Koarth Little and wife Pat of Gainesville, Ga. and Doyle Clay Little Sr. and wife Kathy of Albemarle; grandchildren, Rich Little and wife Kaye of Budapest, Hungary, Shanon Bonds and husband Charles of Marietta, Ga., Elizabeth M. Little and fiancé, Jeffery Braun of Albemarle, Doyle Clay Little Jr. and wife Amanda of Albemarle; great-grandchildren, Richie and William Little, Henry and Abbey Bonds, and Trip and Caselyn Little; and one brother, Bill Little, of England.
