Eva Taylor, 88, of Stanfield, passed away June 12, 2014

Friday, June 13, 2014 — Eva Barbee Taylor, 88 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at CMC- Union in Monroe.

Eva was born October 4, 1925, in Mecklenburg County, to the late James T. Barbee and the late Mamie H. Barbee.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jonah “JC” Calvin Taylor; son, Oscar Ray Lewis; brothers, Lumas Barbee and Lawrence Barbee; sisters, Faye Baucom and Margie Dixon; and grandson, Oscar Eugene Lewis.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at Community Baptist Church in Locust and officiated by the Rev. Scott Williams. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Survivors include daughter, Peggy Trull (Ross) Efird of Stanfield; stepsons, Jerry Trull of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and Ronnie Taylor of Albemarle; three sisters, Alice Love of Albemarle and Rachel Honeycutt and Dellar Crayton, both of Stanfield; stepsister, Dina Taylor of Midland; granddaughter, Cindy Efird Haigler of Monroe; grandson, Steve (Cynthia) Efird of Locust; granddaughter, Robin (Ray) Randall of Norwood; grandson, Junior Lewis of Stanfield; granddaughter, Carolyn Lewis Conner of Stanfield; grandson, Richard Lewis of Stanfield; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
