Tuesday, January 21, 2014 — Janet Faye Honbarrier Cook, of Albemarle, N.C., died at 12:14 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2014, in Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast, Concord, N.C.
Her funeral will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014, in Full Gospel Mission Church, Albemarle, N.C. The Rev. Billy West, the Rev. Buck Cannupp, the Rev. Otis Goins and the Rev. James Chambers will officiate and burial will be in Poplins Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends at Full Gospel Mission Church from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014, prior to the funeral service.
Born in Stanly County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Marshall Willard Honbarrier and Ruby Marie Kearns Honbarrier.
She was a graduate of Albemarle High School, Albemarle, N.C. and was a homemaker.
She was a member and co-founder of Full Gospel Mission Church, Albemarle, N.C. She organized the Ladies’ Auxiliary in the church and faithfully served the church as the pastor’s wife for almost 40 years.
She dearly loved her family, dolls and angels. She also enjoyed camping and gardening.
Mrs. Cook was married to Rev. Mitchell Dewaine Cook of the home for 47 years. They celebrated their 47th anniversary on January 14, 2014.
Survivors include four daughters, Laura Carrickhoff and husband John of Albemarle, N.C., Rita Hinds and husband Jim of New London, N.C., Jessica Cook of Mooresville, N.C. and Courtney Faith of the home; one brother, Garrett D. Honbarrier and wife Judy of New London, N.C.; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are two nephews, Tommy Honbarrier and wife Myra of Midland, N.C. and Troy Honbarrier and wife Misty of New London, N.C.
One son, Reggie Dale Cook, preceded her in death.
