Rosa Belle Burris, 85, of Albemarle, was an active member of West Albemarle Baptist Church


Sunday, September 22, 2013 — Rosa Belle Burris, 85, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.

Rosa Belle was born February 13, 1928, in Stanly County to the late Avis Andrew Burris and Isabelle Tucker Burris. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jasper, Gurney and M.G. Burris; and her sister, Rena Stiller.

Rose Belle was an active member of West Albemarle Baptist Church and cherished her church family. She loved helping others and giving of herself to friends as well as strangers. Rosa Belle volunteered with Hospice of Stanly County for more than 23 years and was once recognized as Hospice Volunteer of the Year.

The family received friends from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at West Albemarle Baptist Church. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Adam Hatley, followed at 11 a.m. Burial was at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 E. Main St., Albemarle, NC 28001.

She is survived by her nephews; Charles A. Burris of Albemarle and Gary Burris of Indian Trail; nieces, Louise Yates of Salisbury, Marlene Hildreth of Albemarle and Patricia Morrow of Charlotte; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.
