Bobby James “Bob” Tucker, 70, of Oakboro, surrounded by his loving family, passed away early Tuesday morning June 25, 2013, at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Providence Church of God in Locust. Rev. Jerry Ingle will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Tucker was born June 27, 1942, in Stanly County to the late Rev. Jake David Tucker and Edna Faye Smith Tucker.
He was a former teacher and basketball coach at Mount Pleasant High School and West Stanly High School. He was presently employed as an agent with Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company. He was a member of Providence Church of God.
Bob and Linda loved to travel and had visited all 50 states. His greatest enjoyment came from being with his kids and grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, LouAllen T. Whitley; and a granddaughter, Emilie Brianna Brundage.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda H. Tucker of the home; daughter, Amy Tucker Brundage and husband Toby and their daughter, Taylor Mackenzie Brundage of Locust; sons, Bradley James Tucker and wife Tina and children, Mattie Grace Tucker and Carley Ann Tucker of Albemarle; Brent D. Tucker and his children, Calista Tucker, Chariety Tucker and Chance Tucker of Raeford; and Matthew Daniel Tucker of Homer, Alaska; and sister, Louise T. Floyd and husband Harold of Oakboro.
