Jean Simpson worked for Tol-Co and Employment Security Commission


Sunday, December 22, 2013 — Willie Jean Simpson, 76, of Oakboro, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 in her home.

Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Red Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Fraley officiating.  Burial was  in the church cemetery. There was  a viewing in the church sanctuary 45 minutes prior to the hour of service.

Born November 25, 1937 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Gilliam L. Austin and Fannie Elizabeth Helms Austin. She was a graduate of Oakboro High School and was office employee at Tol-Co and the Employment Security Commission. She was member of Red Cross Baptist Church and was very active in her church.

She is survived by her husband, Guion B. Simpson;  two sons, Reggie G. Simpson and wife Peggy of Oakboro, and Rodney G. Simpson and wife Shawn of Marshville; brother, Lloyd Austin of Albemarle; and sister Louise Aldridge of Aquadale; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
