Monday, May 13, 2013 —
Mildred Cauleen Lowder Stone, 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, peacefully went to join loved ones in Heaven on Tuesday, May 7, 2013.
Although living in Monroe, N.C., Mildred was born in Stanly County, the daughter of the late Curt and Annie Lowder of Millingport.
Preceding her in death were her loving husband, Talley Stone and their daughter, Nancy Marie Stone.
Besides her family, one of the things Mildred was most proud of was her membership in the Stanly County chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Left behind to mourn are her four children, Teresa Stone Palma, Frances Stone Smith (Dennis), Carol Stone Cormier (Ted) and James Stone; and her eight grandchildren, Tina Honeycutt, Jennifer Smith, Brent Palma, Mark Courtney, Dennis Smith, Melissa Palma, Austin Stone and Carly Stone. Additionally there are 10 great-grandchildren missing their great-grandmother. Also grieving are her sister, Joanne Thomas (Cecil) and her brother, Tom Lowder (Jean), along with many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate her life was at 11 a.m Saturday, May 11, 2013, in Monroe at Lakeside Cemetery.
